About Diana Clark, PhD
“You should create a website,” they said.
I never imagined that following my heart into the Dharma would lead me here. After years of practice and training, I’ve slowly—and sometimes reluctantly—stepped into this era of the “spiritual marketplace.” To help sustain a livelihood of offering the Dharma, I’m learning to let my teachings be easier to find.
This website is a small expression of that: a place where you can access my teachings and, if you feel moved, support my work financially. It’s very much a work in progress as I discover, one click at a time, what it means to have an online presence that’s aligned with the heart of the practice.
A bit about me:
I’m a dharma teacher based in the San Francisco Bay Area, teaching primarily at the Insight Meditation Center in Redwood City. My practice has been shaped by years of silent retreat at places such as Spirit Rock and the Insight Meditation Society (IMS), and by training with teachers Gil Fronsdal and Andrea Fella.
I’ve also studied Buddhism in a more formal way and served for four years as a professor at the Institute of Buddhist Studies in Berkeley, California teaching courses on Theravada Buddhism, Sutta study and Pali. Inspired by the Buddha’s teachings on peace and freedom, my approach to Dharma teaching leans toward the grounded and the practical, while still honoring the depth and mystery of the path. I care about creating spaces where wisdom and compassion can quietly take root in the realities of everyday life.
Before all of this, I trained as a scientist. I hold a PhD in biochemistry, and just as that training deepened my understanding of the human body, my Buddhist practice has continued to deepen my understanding of our amazing minds and hearts.
Over a thousand of my dharma talks and guided meditations are freely available on Audiodharma here.
