Becoming Available: A Day of Mindfulness, Receptivity, and Ease

In meditation, freedom does not come from forcing experience to be different, but from learning to meet what is here with openness and care. This silent daylong retreat will include alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation, with a few short Dharma talks and very brief mindfulness instructions. Practice discussions with the teacher will also be offered. Please bring a lunch. No registration required.

Saturday daylong: Presence, Poetry and Practice

At the heart of Dharma practice is the invitation to be present for our lives, not only for what is pleasant or easily understood, but also for what is uncertain, painful, beautiful, or beyond words. Poetry can help us enter this territory gently. In this daylong retreat, we will meditate together and reflect on poems that have opened something in us. Through mindfulness, poetry, silence, and shared inquiry, we will explore how language can deepen awareness, soften the heart, and connect us with people whose lives may be distant from ours in place or time, yet intimately familiar in their humanity.  The program is offered freely, with no registration needed. Please bring lunch.

The Eightfold Path: A Practical Path to Freedom

The Noble Eightfold Path invites us to discover for ourselves what helps us live with less suffering and more freedom. In this four-week course, we’ll explore the path not simply as a Buddhist teaching to learn and follow, but as a path to engage with. Please join us as we’ll explore how the path can inform the ways we understand our experience, relate to others, and cultivate our minds.
